If you were Betsy Reyes of Oklahoma City, you might have been perplexed as to why her beloved canine Princess has been gaining weight in recent weeks. She was following the same diet and exercising the same way, but she appeared to be getting a little chunky for some reason. Then Betsy observed that Princess was sneaking out of the house at odd hours of the night. What was she up to these days?
Betsy decided to look into it. In the process, she managed to catch Princess carefully positioned down at the local McDonald’s drive-thru, staring beseechingly at the cars speeding past with their freshly cooked hamburgers smelling oh so nice. She was acting like an abandoned, down-on-her-luck stray in need of a supper, but she had everything sorted out in her head. And it was working because people were falling for it!
In the course of her investigation, Betsy came across at least one compassionate individual who threw a yummy, fatty morsel Princess’ way, and she decided that enough was enough. As she drove up to the drive-thru, Betsy lowered the window to expose who was behind the wheel of the car she was in. Busted! As soon as Princess realized her time on the job was done, she returned home to be scolded, complete with a wag of the tail.
