Bentley had already been in four homes when Katarra Taylor adopted him. Most people couldn’t handle his nervousness and medical difficulties, but Taylor believed he deserved a chance at a happy permanent home and refused to give up on him.

Taylor and Bentley were able to work through a lot of Bentley’s anxiety issues together, and while he still struggles, he’s improving every day, and his mother wouldn’t exchange him for anything.
Taylor told The Dodo, “He’s a half lovely doofus and half grouchy grandpa.”
Taylor lived in a one-bedroom apartment when she initially adopted Bentley. She recognized it wouldn’t be enough space for the 120-pound dog in the long run, so she upgraded.

Taylor explained, “I ended up buying a townhouse so we could stay together.” “It had an enclosed patio, which I knew he’d enjoy.” I couldn’t afford a house with a yard, but I figured with the appropriate aid, I could make the patio into a tiny yard.”

Bentley liked lying on the grass when he and his mother went for walks or to the park, and his mother yearned for him to have his patch of grass where he could relax whenever he wanted. The endeavor appeared intimidating at first, but with her boyfriend’s help, they were finally able to transform the patio into the ideal area for Bentley.

“Last week, I finally decided it was time to get this done,” Taylor explained. “It was all done in one day for about $400 thanks to my partner Nick.”
The yard was finally finished after several hours of work, and Taylor couldn’t wait to show Bentley and hoped he would like it as much as she did.

Taylor led Bentley outdoors, and as soon as he saw his new grassy yard, she knew she’d made the correct decision and that all of the efforts had been well worth it.
“Bentley laid down right away and stayed there for a few hours,” Taylor explained. “He appears to be overjoyed.”

Bentley now spends most of his time lounging out on his lawn, and it’s quickly become his new favorite napping spot. His mother is overjoyed that he now has a backyard to call his own, as well as the perfect forever home, after everything he has been through in his young life.
