Many doggie daycares have been forced to close their doors due to the present economic climate. A Fed Ex driver had no choice but to bring his two energetic dachshunds along on his routes because they were losing out on the daily playtime they would normally have at daycare!
Daniel Nava has two rowdy Dachshunds that spend their days at the neighborhood dog daycare. He knew he needed to come up with a backup plan to keep Chorizo and Cocoa entertained while their favorite daycare was closed. Though he was hesitant at first, Daniel decided that instead of leaving his two greatest friends home alone each day, he should bring them to work. While he thought the two pups would be ecstatic to spend more time with their father, he had no idea that his furry friends were about to take the dog-loving world by storm.
It was difficult to decide to bring them along on deliveries, but my boss was quite understanding. Also, I’ve brought them with me previously with no problems – they’re strapped into a harness that’s fastened to my seat while we’re driving.” Daniel Nava said.
It was as though Chorizo and Cocoa had been doing this for years from the moment they stepped onto the Fed Ex truck. They quickly got into the delivery routine, passionately supporting their father at each location.
Aside from their amazing work ethic, they could provide joy to everyone who came into contact with them. On each delivery stop, Chorizo and Cocoa made sure to stand tall and proud, allowing passersby to sneak in loads of head pats and photos!
As if the two pups weren’t cute enough, Daniel went above and above by outfitting them in Fed-Ex uniforms. To help the pair appear more professional, Daniel was able to make little doggy t-shirts out of his old work outfits. He also gave the dogs doggy sunglasses as a finishing touch!
Everyone they pass smiles when they see these dedicated puppies in their FedEx outfit. These are trying times, therefore delivery teams like Chorizo and Cocoa are welcomed. We’re not sure about you, but we’re hoping that this beautiful ride-along continues even after the doggy daycare reopens!
