Animal behavior never ceases to amaze humans. Feelings that are typical in people can be discovered in them, as in the case of a calf who likes and acts like one of the dogs with whom it was raised.
Coral Algie, 52, and her husband Wayne, 61, reside on a property in New South Wales with their two children. Their two beautiful children are Bella, who is 12 years old, and Lawson, who is 10 years old. It is a family dedicated to German shepherd dog breeding.
One day, the Algies came across a cow locked in some sort of trap or dam near their farm; while they were able to free her, she was too fragile and perished. A beautiful and adorable one-day-old calf stood close by.
The pair did not hesitate to bring it to the farm because the little animal would have died if they had left it there. When Buddy returned home, Bada, a two-and-a-half-year-old German Shepherd who had just given birth to eleven lovely puppies, adopted him.
Coral observed, “Bada has embraced Buddy as puppy number 12.”
By the time it was six weeks old, the calf had picked up on the behaviors and habits of its canine siblings and sisters. Like the other puppies, he enjoyed going hunting with them, wagging his tail and curling up for a nap.
Buddy likes being with his family, particularly Bada and his canine brothers. It’s nice to see them together as mother and son! The German shepherd looks after him at all times, licking him and cleaning his eyes to demonstrate her affection and the grateful calf replies with the same love and dedication.
“When he’s out, she keeps an eye on him.” She follows him around and pursues him. She has always been generous to him. Coral replied, “It’s been fantastic.”
Buddy is a rambunctious dog who enjoys spending time outside with the kids, and he especially enjoys following Bella around on her bike. Even though he is a family member, he understands that his place to sleep is on the farm’s terrace, and he sleeps soundly there.
He’s growing quickly, as is characteristic of his species, but he shouldn’t be concerned. Coral has promised that the farm will be his home for the rest of his life and that he will be his favorite bull when he grows up.
“He won’t end up in the slaughterhouse; he’ll always be our wonderful companion,” the gracious lady assured.
Good fortune has been bestowed upon the delicate calf of such noble sentiments. It’s wonderful to see such a cute creature! His adoptive mother has provided him unconditional love and care as if he were one of her puppies. Animals unquestionably teach us new things regularly.
