A 205-pound English mastiff might be frightened by a few inches of snow, but I see a fearless dog that knows what he wants and will not compromise until he has it.

Joe is the dog of Chris, a big-time cast-iron skillet aficionado who goes by the TikTok handle cast iron Chris. He recorded Joe standing in the snow just beyond the snowy entryway and posted it on YouTube. 29th of January.
I believe Chris and his companion are attempting to persuade Joe to come inside from the snow. But he’s not going to do it. Why? Snow has drifted up against the door frame, about 3 inches deep, and it is far too high for this enormous dog to pass. He tries four times to approach the entrance at his humans’ request, but the daunting snow defeats him each time. He’s done after the fourth attempt, and he’s waiting to see what his people will do about this terrible problem.

His parents give up, not likely tired of pleading with a stubborn dog but also amused. Chris gets the shovel and rapidly clears the snow from the doorstep, and Joe, 8, returns to the warmth of the house. Our guy sought an easier way in, and dang it, he got it. He wasn’t going to be held responsible for the wet tracks on the carpet.
So far, the funny video showing Joe’s dedication to a safe, slip-free entry has received over 2.1 million views. Joe enjoys his blanket and his sister Lucy, in addition to the necessary amount of snow.
So, while we attempt to make it through the last snowfalls of the season, make sure you leave room for your pets, just like Joe’s parents did. If you’re going to use ice melt, be sure it’s pet-friendly.
