Jani Delperdang’s English bulldog Chowder has been a ball of energy since the day she brought him home at 8 weeks old. Delperdang, on the other hand, had no idea the pup, who is now five years old, would become a viral skating sensation.

Delperdang and her daughter took Chowder on a trip to the Oregon coast when he was two years old. A little boy dumped his skimboard into the water as they walked down the beach. Chowder leaped on the board before the boy could use it!
Chowder had never done anything like that before, but he was a natural in front of the camera. Delperdang claims he rode the skimboard for a half-hour while throngs gathered to watch.
Delperdang brought home a skateboard from the thrift store after discovering Chowder’s innate knack for skimboarding to see whether the athletic bulldog was interested.
Delperdang tells Daily Paws that “after five minutes, he was rolling on his stomach across the driveway.”

Chowder became enamored with skateboarding after his first skate. Delperdang claims that when he first started skating, he would spend the entire morning waiting to be put out on the ice. The skater dog would roll up and down the driveway all afternoon once he got on. Chowder can now accelerate down slopes, turn, and even skate over obstacles three years later.
Delperdang tells Daily Paws, “We have to be careful with him because he’s such a speed demon that he’ll ride everything we put him on.” “He’s just got a certain boldness about him.”
Chowder’s skateboarding has brought thousands of people joy on TikTok, in addition to being a fascinating pastime for the dog. Chowder has over 800,000 followers on Instagram, and skaters of all ages have accepted him and his family into the community.
Delperdang tells Daily Paws, “We all notice the fun and excitement about the skating segment.” “It’s a means for us all to come together,” says the narrator.
